Early Years and Elementary Education

St. George School Madrid builds its foundation on the British curriculum for ages 2 to 11. Children in the early years develop through natural English immersion, with Spanish introduced based on individual backgrounds, while exploring seven key developmental areas. Primary students then follow an enhanced British program integrated with the International Primary Curriculum, which combines core subjects like English, math, PE, and music with thematic learning across history, geography, sciences, arts, and technology, alongside developing Spanish proficiency.

Secondary School and IGCSE

Students progress through Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) toward IGCSE examinations. Years 7-8 establish foundations in language and literature, math, sciences, and PE, plus French or German, while the program encompasses:

  • Humanities
  • Computer Science
  • Arts
  • ESO program with Spanish language and geography/history

Advancing to Years 9-11, students build on these core disciplines while choosing electives that match their interests, including:

  • Business
  • Art and Design
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • History
  • Geography

International Baccalaureate

The IB Diploma at St. George School Madrid prepares graduates for leading universities worldwide. Students craft personalized curricula by selecting from six academic groups:

  • Language and Literature

  • The Arts

Beyond these subjects, they complete three core components: an extended research essay, theory of knowledge that develops critical thinking across different viewpoints, and the Creativity, Activity, Service program involving arts, sports, and community work.
