The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at St Peter’s School trains students from Year 10 onwards, teaching navigation, first aid, and fieldcraft in partnership with the Yorkshire Regiment—building discipline and teamwork through hands-on outdoor sessions. Alongside this, the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme runs from Year 9 through three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Expeditions range across the Yorkshire Dales, Northern Pennines, and moorlands, blending physical challenge with volunteer work and skill development.
Trips
St Peter’s School organizes language trips to Spain and Germany, political tours to Washington, and theatre visits across York, Leeds, and Manchester. Geography fieldwork spans sites from Headingley Water Treatment Works to Flamborough Head, letting students apply classroom theory in real conditions. Musical tours alternate between European cities and New York, with orchestras and choirs performing at Notre-Dame de Paris, Barcelona Cathedral, and St Mark’s Basilica in Venice.
