Careers Department at St Peter’s School

The careers and higher education department operates an open-door policy, allowing students to arrange confidential meetings where they discuss their abilities and interests. Year 11 hosts the Futures Fair, connecting students with professionals from various fields. During this time, pupils complete the Morrisby assessment, which identifies their aptitudes and strengths. Once they reach Sixth Form, students gain access to Unifrog for exploring universities and career paths, alongside a prospectus library and specialized software.

Support

In Year 11, advisers review test results with students, helping them choose A Level subjects and arrange work experience placements that strengthen university applications. Lower Sixth students participate in mentoring sessions with senior pupils—five weekly meetings covering interviews, decision-making, and career planning. Meanwhile, Upper Sixth receive personalized support with UCAS applications, personal statements, and mock interviews conducted by external specialists. When exam results are published, the school offers consultations to help students navigate their options.
