School Profile
Following England’s National Curriculum from early years through A-Levels and BTEC, Star International School, Al Twar employs the Learning.First™ methodology, which positions teachers as mentors while students shape their own learning path through reflection and peer assessment. This approach yields impressive outcomes—97% pass A Level while 91% achieve grades 9-4 on GCSE exams—enabling graduates to pursue their ambitions at leading universities worldwide. The community itself reflects genuine diversity, with students representing over 60 nationalities.
Locations
Two purpose-built campuses in Al Twar serve different age groups. The primary campus in Al Twar 2 creates an intimate environment for younger learners, featuring interactive play zones, a music room, and a STEAM lab designed for exploration and creativity. Meanwhile, the secondary campus in Al Twar 4 houses advanced science laboratories for biology, chemistry, and physics, an Apple Mac Suite, a design and technology lab with 3D printers, plus sporting facilities including an Olympic 8-lane pool, football pitch, and three indoor sports halls.

The research partnership with Cambridge University through Camtree underpins the institution’s “Good Struggles” philosophy, deliberately creating productive discomfort that fosters growth. Scholarship programs recognize outstanding achievement in academics, sports, debate, and the arts.
Star International School, Al Twar Curriculum
The Enhanced English National Curriculum integrates STEAM across all levels. Early Years (3-5) follows EYFS with exploratory learning through structured play, while Primary (5-11) uses interdisciplinary projects combining geography, history, music, and art. Secondary (11-16) prepares students for IGCSE and BTEC, and Post-16 (16-18) offers either A-Levels for academic preparation or BTEC for practical learning. English serves as the teaching language, with Arabic studied from early years through Year 13 and French from Year 5 to IGCSE. The EAL program accelerates language development, while life skills training addresses cognitive abilities, global competencies, self-management, interpersonal skills, and digital literacy.
