Academic Structure

The English College Dubai welcomes children aged 3 to 18 in Al Safa, serving over 80 nationalities through an enhanced British curriculum spanning Early Years Foundation Stage to A Level. Younger pupils begin with play-based Early Years, while Primary (5–11) builds foundations through core subjects and regular assessments like CAT4. Secondary students (11–16) combine mandatory courses with electives before specializing in up to four A Level or BTEC subjects during Sixth Form (16–18).

Approach to Learning at The English College Dubai

The educational philosophy here rests on Learning.First™ methodology and Rosenshine’s principles, which encourage deeper thinking and resilience. The STRIVE programme introduces characters like Teamwork Turtle to younger learners, while the STEAM THRIVE Programme engages older students in robotics, lab experiments, and field research with visiting experts. Senior pupils pursue the internal EC Diploma alongside their academic track, developing leadership and critical thinking. Meanwhile, the Camtree partnership with Cambridge University ensures teaching methods evolve through data-driven research.

Language Environment

With over 60 languages spoken by its community, this place offers genuine multilingual immersion. English serves as the daily medium of instruction, while Arabic receives intensive focus from the earliest years—taught either as a mother tongue or foreign language depending on each child’s background. French and Spanish feature throughout, and Sixth Form students can deepen their language studies through A Level or BTEC options, preparing them for global opportunities.

Upper School Programs and University Preparation

Final-year students build flexible pathways combining A Level, BTEC, or both, with consistently strong exam outcomes opening doors to prestigious universities regionally and beyond. From Year 10 onward, career advisors support specialization choices, Unifrog provides access to thousands of programmes, and experts guide applications through UCAS and Common App. University fairs, internships, and masterclasses complement this, while participation in Model United Nations, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and international competitions strengthens portfolios before higher education.
