Daily Mail University Rankings placed them first among London universities, while Guardian University Guide 2025 ranked their media and film specializations second nationwide. These achievements translate into tangible opportunities—graduates recently secured internships at Time Warner and Financial Times. The university spans nearly every media profession, from television and radio to digital media, film, journalism, publishing, and marketing communications, which allows students to master adjacent fields crucial in today’s convergent media landscape.

Digital Media and Communication

The BA (Hons) Digital Media and Communication program prepares specialists for a rapidly evolving digital environment where advertising, journalism, content production, and social media form a unified ecosystem. Ranking among Britain’s top seven media and communications programs, it engages students with real briefs and industry collaborations—developing expertise in advertising, production, fashion and music journalism, and creative writing. London’s position as a global media hub becomes an educational asset through regular professional meetings, exhibitions, events, and group projects that prepare graduates for diverse roles across the constantly shifting media landscape.

Filmmaking

BA (Hons) Filmmaking focuses on three core areas: film history, theory, and production practice, covering documentary, narrative, avant-garde cinema, and screenwriting. Students learn to shoot on authentic 16mm film—one of few programs nationwide offering this—while mastering digital technologies. The first year involves creating short films and studying Hollywood cinema; the second explores European and world cinema alongside experimental production; the final year concentrates on professional development through a major graduation project. Specializations include genre cinema, urban film, transmedia storytelling, and mobile media, preparing graduates for careers in production, festival administration, or film journalism.
