Extracurricular Activities at American Academy for Girls

The American Academy for Girls believes in opening doors to a world of opportunities. A comprehensive extracurricular program, available to students from grades 1 to 12, is designed to enrich school life and make it truly vibrant.

A Wide Range of Extracurricular Options

The extracurricular program at American Academy for Girls is a lively mix of clubs and activities that cater to a wide variety of interests. Numerous opportunities are available, from leadership roles like house captains to intellectual pursuits such as Model United Nations (MUN).

Students can explore their creative side through activities like drawing, cooking, and baking, or get active with sports such as soccer, trampoline jumping, and swimming. Additionally, educational trips are organized, including international excursions like the four-day “Space Academy” program in Singapore, which aims to promote science and engineering.

Unique Programs at American Academy for Girls

One of the unique features of the school is the CHIPS program, which stands for Creativity, Happiness, Innovation, Pioneering, and Spirited activities. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s vision of fostering a joyful atmosphere in all educational institutions.

The WAVES Swimming Academy, established in 2011, offers students excellent extracurricular opportunities to develop their swimming skills.

Leadership Through the House System

The house system is designed to encourage leadership among students by assigning various roles across different year groups. These roles include house head, deputy house head, and house captains in the senior, middle, and primary schools.

Points earned by each house are recorded daily and contribute to the House Cup at the end of each semester. These points accumulate throughout the school year to determine the overall winner. The house that comes out on top is celebrated each quarter with an event or trip, fostering a sense of achievement and recognition.
