Campus Housing

CATS College Cambridge runs two residence halls within walking distance of classrooms and the city center. Elizabeth House already accommodates students aged 14-17, while Darwin House will open in summer 2026, adding nearly a hundred beds. Everyone under 18 stays in fully-serviced boarding, which means adults handle daily routines. Rooms come as singles or doubles with private bathrooms, beds, desks, and wardrobes, plus welcome packs that include robes, towels, bedding, organizers, adapters, and water bottles—so packing light works fine. There are also shared lounges, laundries, monitored Wi-Fi, and larger premium rooms for those who appreciate extra space.

Care at CATS College Cambridge

House Parents live in each building and maintain round-the-clock availability, with one staying awake through the night to support younger residents. They assist with everyday tasks, monitor wellbeing, and cultivate an environment that eases the transition from home. When they notice homesickness or academic struggles, they coordinate directly with teachers. The campus also employs qualified medical staff and 24-hour security, creating a layered system that reassures parents their children are in capable hands.

Dining

Thomas Franks, an independent catering company, prepares fresh meals on campus daily. The menu blends British and international dishes—roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, steamed cod, stir-fried noodles, borscht—and gets published in advance so students know what to expect. Breakfast runs from 7:45 to 8:50 on weekdays, lunch from 11:45 to 13:30, dinner from 17:00 to 19:30, while weekends shift to brunch. Every meal includes vegetarian and halal options, and special dietary needs can be arranged upon request.

Daily Life and Leisure

Students live within walking distance of Cambridge’s historic center, which lets them explore the city and meet friends after classes. Common areas on campus serve as evening gathering spots where residents play games, socialize, or simply unwind. Younger students participate in a mandatory activity program during mid-term breaks to stay engaged and supervised, while those who wish can remain in residence over Easter holidays for an additional fee. Once they turn 18, self-catering options become available at reduced rates, though full boarding remains the standard until then.
