Study Programs

CATS College Cambridge welcomes students from age 14 (provided they have at least 8 years of prior education). The options range from full British secondary qualifications to short-term programs that introduce students to how education works in the UK.

What path someone takes depends on their age and objectives. Some complete the full cycle—starting with secondary levels before moving into university preparation. Others arrive for a term or two to experience what it’s like firsthand.

Available programs:

  • Years 10-11: GCSE (6 terms), Fast-Track GCSE (5 terms from January), Pre-A Level (1-3 terms)
  • Years 12-13: A Level (6 terms from September or 5 from January), University Foundation Programme (3 terms from September or 2 from January)
  • Short-term option: High School Term—one to three terms for international students aged 15+

Teaching Approach

Each student works with a personal tutor who meets daily with a group of around 15 people. These tutors monitor attendance and progress while helping craft individual development plans based on ALIS testing, which reveals genuine potential across subjects.

Teachers at CATS College Cambridge remain accessible beyond class hours—students can drop by to discuss challenging material or simply talk things through. This openness creates an environment where learning becomes an ongoing conversation among people genuinely engaged with what they’re doing.

University Preparation at CATS College Cambridge

From day one, students receive guidance from admissions specialists who run dedicated sessions and individual meetings. They help craft personal statements that genuinely reflect each person’s distinct qualities, while organizing university visits and open days.

Those targeting Oxford, Cambridge, or competitive fields like medicine and law can join the KPP program. It offers preparation for entrance exams, university-level presentations, and mock interviews with experts, assigning each student a mentor with specialist knowledge in their chosen field.

Scientific Work

Students engage with the sciences through hands-on application in laboratory workshops rather than just reading textbooks. The summer STEM program combines lectures with practical sessions and English lessons covering scientific terminology, while trips to science museums and space centers demonstrate how real researchers operate.

What distinguishes CATS College Cambridge is its partnership with CamSTAR, which allows students to participate in research projects alongside teachers. They’re encouraged to develop innovative projects that tangibly impact the community around them rather than merely padding portfolios—something that significantly strengthens university applications.
