The DBS network has spent nearly two decades nurturing over five thousand graduates who’ve scattered across universities worldwide. While Dubai British School Mira currently welcomes children from age three (FS1), it plans to expand progressively through Year 13, allowing students to complete their entire journey within these walls. The modern campus provides everything a growing learner needs—indoor pools for year-round swimming, outdoor football pitches, sports halls, innovative learning hubs, libraries, and a spacious assembly hall. The schedule adapts to family rhythms: older students attend from 8:15 to 15:15, younger ones finish by 13:30, and Fridays see everyone home before lunch.

Dubai British School Mira Philosophy

Founder and director Amy Falhi built the approach around “Enjoy, Aspire, Achieve”—children should genuinely love learning, set ambitious goals, and progress at their own pace. British specialists who’ve spent over a decade in the emirate lead the team, embedding five core values from day one: compassion for others, honesty in actions, community engagement, curiosity about the world, and pursuit of excellence. Special attention goes to students with developmental needs through a graduated response model that assesses requirements, creates individual education plans, implements them with adjustments, and regularly monitors effectiveness.

Academic Programme

The youngest learners (FS1–Year 1) follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, where classrooms transform into spaces for independent discovery and play becomes the primary tool for understanding the world. Primary school (Year 2–6) runs on the National Curriculum for England, emphasizing project-based learning, cross-curricular connections, and soft skills alongside academic knowledge. Spanish joins the weekly schedule from Year 1, so by the end of primary, children read simple texts and hold everyday conversations. Secondary level (Year 7–8) prepares students for GCSE examinations, with plans to offer all examination stages as the school grows.

Extracurricular Life

The extracurricular programme launches from FS2 and splits into three strands reflecting the school’s philosophy: active clubs (from beginner pool games to competitive swimming teams), creative pursuits (from art workshops to participation in World Art Dubai), and academic extensions (from cozy Storytime sessions to the selective Chevron Readers). Each term, the offerings refresh based on student and parent feedback, while the final Showcase gathers families to celebrate what children have achieved.

Beyond lessons and clubs, this is a neighborhood community. Every class has a parent representative who manages WhatsApp groups and meets regularly with leadership to voice family perspectives. A Community Committee organizes charitable initiatives and celebrations, and the campus opens for gatherings outside school hours.
