Inspection
In June 2023, the Independent Schools Inspectorate awarded Hazlegrove Prep School an “Excellent” rating following a comprehensive review. Inspectors found that children of all abilities make outstanding progress while learning to nurture both physical and mental wellbeing. The environment they noted fosters confidence and curiosity, helping pupils develop into assured, inquisitive individuals who understand what it means to care for themselves and others.
Scholarships
Over the past four years, Hazlegrove Prep School graduates have earned 116 scholarships and awards across 16 senior schools. Sports accounted for 48 of these achievements, while academic excellence brought 23 awards. Creative disciplines flourished too, with 18 scholarships in art and design, 15 in drama, and 8 in music—evidence of how the school helps each child discover their unique strengths before moving on.
Graduate Destinations
Around 40% of pupils transition to King’s School, Bruton, a partner institution within their shared foundation established in 1519. Others progress to leading British schools chosen to match their individual abilities and aspirations—among them Eton College, Winchester College, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Sherborne, Radley, Wycombe Abbey, Marlborough College, Bryanston, Canford, and Downside School.
