Admission Parameters
Hazlegrove Prep School welcomes children from age 2 into Nursery, continuing through to 13. The process unfolds individually for each family, beginning with a personal meeting at the admissions office. Staff members share their own experiences—many are parents of current pupils—while addressing any questions that arise. For overseas families unable to visit in person, the school arranges video meetings with the Head and other senior administrators.
Admission Stages
The standard route begins with online registration requiring a £120 fee (£60 for siblings of current pupils). Following this, children spend a trial day at the school, during which teachers assess their readiness. Once the invitation arrives, families secure the place with a £500 deposit. International candidates pay an additional £1,500 (from EU countries) or a full term’s fees (from non-EU countries)—this sum serves as security when obtaining CAS documentation for visa purposes.
Requirements for International Students
Overseas pupils complete a two-stage online interview with the language support coordinator. Assessment includes reading comprehension tasks, a mathematics test, and an essay about family and interests—allowing the school to evaluate vocabulary and written proficiency. All international pupils must arrange a guardian within two hours of Hazlegrove who can collect the child during illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
