Swimming at Hazlegrove Prep School
From the youngest groups through Year 8, everyone swims weekly in the school’s 25-meter indoor pool. Beginners earn badges as they gain confidence in the water, while older students master specific strokes and learn safety protocols. Those wanting extra practice can join the after-school swimming club from their first year onwards, where they refine technique, build endurance, and prepare for competitions.
Schedule and Coaching
Year 3 students have two PE lessons and four games sessions weekly; by Year 4 this shifts to two and six, then from Years 5-8 it becomes two and seven, each lasting 35 minutes. Beyond the core curriculum, Hazlegrove Prep School offers optional coaching in tennis, golf, judo, equestrianism, and ballet. Some students progress to international competitions, representing Great Britain.
