Boarding Arrangement

Royal High School Bath offers full and weekly boarding alongside flexible night options and day places with extended hours until 9 p.m. These arrangements are available from Year 7 through Sixth Form, allowing families to adjust as their daughters grow older. Around a quarter of students—140 girls from various countries—live on campus, though most are British, which creates an immersive English-speaking environment that helps international students settle into life in the UK.

Rooms and Common Areas

Younger students are housed on the upper floor of the neo-Gothic main building, where they share spacious split-level bedrooms. Adjacent quiet zones and common rooms give them space to unwind after lessons or spend time together. Once they reach Sixth Form, girls move to a separate residence with twin rooms where they can study and live alongside a friend. These accommodations include modern kitchens and offer greater independence, though staff support remains consistent.

Team and Care

Experienced staff live in the boarding houses with the girls, ensuring round-the-clock presence. Students are elected to the boarding council and catering committee, participating in decisions that shape daily life and menus. The wellbeing program addresses everything from academic pressures to emotional health, while Royal High School Bath, as a licensed UK Visas and Immigration sponsor, assists international families with visa matters and guardian arrangements during holidays.

The catering team prepares meals seven days a week, with a nutritionist overseeing balanced menus that accommodate dietary requirements. Weekends bring trips to Roman baths, London theaters, rock climbing in Avon Gorge, or rafting in the Mendips. On-site facilities include a fitness suite, Steinway music school, and library, while partnerships with tennis clubs, external stables, and the University of Bath’s sports facilities broaden opportunities for active recreation.
