Creative Development and Performances

Students at Yago School build confidence through regular classes combined with public performances—annual theater productions in professional venues, dance concerts, and photo exhibitions that let them showcase their work. Whether preparing for rigorous ABRSM music exams or attending demanding classical ballet sessions, children develop discipline, concentration, and creative thinking while discovering what truly excites them under professional guidance.

Music Education

Music at Yago School begins at age four with rhythm exploration using small percussion instruments like claves, güiro, and triangles before progressing to xylophones. Teachers observe each child’s abilities and recommend advanced study when they spot particular talent. Many students successfully take Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams administered by examiners from England. Extracurricular offerings span piano, guitar, violin, cello, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and clarinet, with special focus on percussion—students master African djembe, darbuka, flamenco cajón, and Latin American percussion through batucada sessions that enhance psychomotor skills and concentration.

Yago School Dance School

Dance instruction follows Baby Ballet Global Dance methodology, blending jazz and contemporary elements with traditional forms. Children from age four start with Baby Ballet, where classical technique merges with imagination through specially adapted music and exercises that develop coordination without losing their interest. Older students transition to serious classical ballet from ages 7-8—a demanding discipline requiring genuine dedication—while others explore street dance with jazz and contemporary techniques, or flamenco classes covering sevillanas, rumba, bulería, and alegrías styles.

Creative Directions

The theatrical studio, known as the “Performing Arts Club,” immerses students in all aspects of production—they analyze professional scripts, create original works, design costumes, and practice makeup techniques alongside acting. Sessions include trust exercises, scene recreation, monologue work, and recording analysis. Visual arts classes help children express emotions while parents receive monthly project updates, and the Cobertura Photo course teaches storytelling through images and mobile camera techniques via practical exercises and visual analysis.
