Extracurricular Activities

Sports Programs

Beyond the classroom, students discover athletic pursuits through more than 15 disciplines that balance team play with individual development. Younger children begin their journey with multisports and psychomotor activities before advancing to specialized training that matches their evolving interests and abilities.

The campus sports academy welcomes not only enrolled students but community members of all ages. While grass football, basketball, volleyball, and tag rugby draw team-oriented athletes, individual disciplines like artistic gymnastics, judo, karate, and rowing provide alternative paths. Those seeking something different can explore mini-tennis or roller skating, with instruction tailored to both beginners and advanced participants.

Arts and Creativity at Yago School

Creative expression thrives alongside athletic development. The music program prepares students for ABRSM exams—a prestigious British qualification that opens doors globally. Children as young as four begin with musical orchestra before progressing to instrumental study that includes:

  • Piano
  • Guitar
  • Violin
  • Cello
  • Saxophone
  • Flute
  • Trumpet
  • Clarinet
  • Percussion and batucada

Dance programs led by Baby Ballet Global Dance span classical ballet, street styles, and Andalusian traditions like flamenco and bulería. Students can also join the Scene Club theatre studio, attend art workshops, or develop professional photography skills through Cobertura Photo courses.

Enrichment Clubs

Educational workshops extend academic learning while building logical thinking and independence. The chess club welcomes all ages, fostering discipline, concentration, and strategic planning under instructors from the Andalusian Institute for Chess Development. Competitive players participate in tournaments that test their growing mastery.

A homework support club operates under guidance from the career counseling department. The most technologically advanced offering is STEAM, where participants engage with virtual reality, programming, robotics, drones, and 3D modeling before competing in interscholastic educational robotics competitions.

International Experience

Global exchanges form an integral part of education at Yago School. The international programs coordinator helps families select options ranging from brief cultural visits to full-semester placements abroad. The two-week exchange with Newman School in Boston—a fellow International Baccalaureate institution—remains particularly popular. Through partnerships with language agencies, students can spend one month, two months, or an entire term at prestigious institutions worldwide, refining their linguistic abilities through natural immersion.
