Sports as a Foundation for Growth

At Yago School, sports shape how students develop both physically and socially. While regular activity keeps them healthy, team training teaches friendship, respect for opponents, and collaboration—qualities that extend beyond the field. The academy welcomes not just enrolled students but anyone from the community who wants an active lifestyle. Its campus features modern facilities with cutting-edge technology, a covered pavilion, and a pool for aquatic programs. Through partnerships with leading Seville clubs, students train at competitive levels and enter tournaments of varying scales.

Extracurricular Sports Clubs

Beyond the academy, Yago School runs after-school sections where students explore different disciplines in a relaxed atmosphere. These clubs help them discover what they love while building skills with friends:

  • Football — training on campus fields, teams compete in the Catholic Schools League
  • Basketball — sessions in the pavilion with competition opportunities
  • Volleyball — preparation following Spanish Volleyball Federation protocols
  • Judo — guided by Mario Roldán from Judolín club, with regular meets and federation access
  • Gymnastics — working with new professional equipment in the pavilion
  • Roller skating
  • Tag rugby — introduction to rugby with CAR club, one of Seville’s strongest
  • Rowing

Team Sports at Yago School

The academy offers professional training across four major team disciplines. Football runs from first grade through graduation, letting students grow with their squad and refine technique over years. Basketball follows the same trajectory, with coaches organizing groups by age and skill level. Volleyball begins in sixth grade, when coordination and tactical thinking mature enough for complex gameplay. Tag rugby starts in fourth grade, building not just endurance but the nobility this sport embodies. All teams regularly compete in tournaments, giving students real-world testing grounds.

Individual Sports and Dance

For those drawn to personal achievement rather than team dynamics, the academy opens paths into gymnastics, martial arts, and mini-tennis. Gymnastics develops flexibility, coordination, and musical awareness while building body confidence. Martial arts split into beginner and advanced groups, while mini-tennis adapts specifically for second through fifth graders. The pool serves all ages—toddlers learn buoyancy, children master proper technique, and adults choose between group lessons or free swimming. Creative programs include flamenco and street dance, immersing students in rhythm and movement. This variety ensures everyone finds something that genuinely captivates them.
