Why Architecture at Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh

MArch Architecture

The program accepts graduates from architecture, geography, planning, and economics backgrounds, with applications processed through the University of Edinburgh.

MSc Spatial Planning and Real Estate Development

The Spatial Planning and Real Estate Development master’s prepares students for developer or planner roles across public and private sectors, including consultancy for builders and investors. The Scottish Government supports the program through its Future Planner Scholarship, offering eight awards covering tuition fees for September entrants.

BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying

At undergraduate level, Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh offers two tracks — quantity surveying and construction project management — both emphasizing hands-on experience. The BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying carries RICS accreditation and provides students with VR labs, the Constructionarium field course, and the CEMENT scheme connecting them with practicing professionals for placements.

BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management

The Construction Project Management bachelor’s at Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh launches from day one with a walking tour of Edinburgh’s architecture, site visits, and a three-day field trip. From there, the curriculum progresses through surveying, BIM modeling, international excursions, and a group thesis project, systematically building professional capabilities toward the final year.
