Why Hospitality

International Management Institute Switzerland bridges theory with practice in hotel management education. The approach goes beyond traditional coursework—students engage with real hotel case studies while developing universal skills that translate across borders and roles. This foundation in cross-cultural understanding and hands-on application prepares them for careers with major international companies. Throughout their studies, they complete paid internships at established hotels, building both practical experience and industry connections that strengthen their professional trajectory.

Practical Diploma in Hospitality

The Graduate Hospitality program examines restaurant service operations management, financial analytics for hotel chains, and talent development strategies, offering a comprehensive view of the profession. Its defining feature is a six-month paid internship that frequently leads to positions with employers like Kempinski or Marriott. The emphasis on intercultural communication helps students navigate common challenges when working with international clients, particularly in the Middle East or Asia.

Graduate Diploma Curriculum

The structure alternates 22 weeks of classroom learning with 22 weeks of internships, fostering quick adaptation to global market realities. When students take the project management course, they immediately apply it to organizing culinary festivals, while business accounting knowledge gets tested through analyzing financial reports from five-star hotels.

Bachelor’s in Hospitality

The BA (Hons) in International Hospitality Business Management follows international standards through three progressive levels. Diploma establishes fundamentals in hotel business and management, Higher Diploma develops operational and team leadership skills, while BA (Hons) transforms graduates into strategists capable of developing entire business directions. Each level combines 22 weeks of academic work with optional 22-week paid internships, requiring a minimum of 12 months’ practical experience to complete the degree in under three years.

Modules at International Management Institute Switzerland

The bachelor’s program operates on a 120-credit system per level. Diploma covers foundational business disciplines—from accounting and economics to hotel operations and entrepreneurship basics—while introducing digital consumer behavior and tourism fundamentals. Higher Diploma shifts toward management, exploring personnel work, financial analysis, project coordination, and event organization, with particular attention to digital tourism technologies and cross-cultural hospitality aspects. The final BA (Hons) stage takes a strategic approach: digital marketing, international brand development, sustainable tourism destinations, and hospitality concepts, culminating in a major research project that applies accumulated knowledge to real business challenges.
