Olympic Swimming
Since 1978, Mount Kelly’s swimming programme has nurtured 115 international athletes, 36 of whom have competed at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, claiming 8 Olympic and 16 Commonwealth medals. The Paralympic division shows equally impressive results, having secured 32 medals across five consecutive Games. This success has positioned it as one of Britain’s premier Paralympic swimmer training centers, with its team capturing the prestigious National Arena League Cup in 2020 and 2022.
Exam Results
More than 75% of A Level graduates gain admission to their first-choice universities, while a third enter Russell Group institutions. Earlier, at GCSE level, approximately one-third of students achieve 7+ grades in at least five subjects, with geography and physical education proving particularly strong. The Extended Project Qualification shows remarkable results—94% of sixth formers earn A and A* grades, which substantially aids university applications through additional UCAS points.
University Admissions
Graduates disperse globally—from Oxford and Imperial College to Lancaster for medicine and Bristol for mathematics with finance. Seven have secured sports scholarships in the USA, while three headed to Europe.

The institution provides strong support for those pursuing competitive fields: medicine, dentistry at Glasgow, veterinary science at Nottingham, and architecture at Bath. Some choose prestigious apprenticeship programmes over traditional university paths.
Mount Kelly Recognition
In 2024, Mount Kelly earned Distinction in the Eco School Green Flag Awards and reached the BSA Awards final for best boarding house refurbishment. Its design department has received Good Schools Guide recognition. Beyond academics, the chamber choir became School Choir of the Year 2020 according to Barnardo’s, later capturing gold and silver at international choral competitions in Italy and Barcelona.
