Educational Pathway

Mount Kelly builds a continuous journey from age four through eighteen. Children begin in Pre-Prep, then move through three Prep stages before entering College, where they prepare for GCSE. The path concludes in Sixth Form, which offers both traditional A Levels and vocational BTEC qualifications, allowing students to choose what suits their goals.

The school’s philosophy centers on independence and growth mindset—teachers encourage students to see mistakes as valuable learning rather than failure. This principle shapes everything from mathematics to art, supported by differentiated classroom teaching that adapts to individual needs. Younger pupils, for instance, explore science, history, and geography through immersive thematic projects that begin with an exciting launch and culminate in presentations, turning lessons into compelling investigations.

English Language Support

Mount Kelly provides comprehensive English support across all year groups at no extra cost. Depending on their proficiency, international students attend sessions one to four times weekly in small groups or individually, preparing for Cambridge or IELTS examinations. Beyond language skills, teachers help pupils navigate adaptation and cultural adjustment, recognizing that a warm environment matters especially when children are far from home.

Research Projects

Students pursue independent research through various programmes. Seniors undertake the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), diving deep into chosen topics while gaining university application advantages—94% achieve top grades. Younger students can complete the simpler HPQ version, which teaches research planning and presentation skills. The mandatory Beyond the Curriculum programme combines public speaking, higher education preparation, and debate sessions, equipping graduates for adult life beyond school.
