Scholarships
In 2025, Orwell Park School graduates earned 30 scholarships from leading UK independent schools. These covered five areas: academics, sports, theatre, music, and art, with some pupils securing combined awards across multiple disciplines. The ISI inspection noted that “a significant number of pupils are awarded academic, sporting, creative and musical scholarships” each year. According to Good Schools Guide, Orwell Park allows boys and girls to build character and confidence before they move on to the country’s most prestigious establishments.
Senior School Placements
Over the past six years, graduates have entered more than 40 different senior schools, including Eton, Harrow, Winchester, Benenden, Marlborough, Wellington, and Rugby. In 2025 alone, they received offers from 16 top schools such as Brighton College, Gresham’s, Millfield, Roedean, Royal Hospital School, and Tudor Hall. The 2019–2024 placement records also feature Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Radley, Shrewsbury, Sedbergh, Westminster, Tonbridge, and Woodbridge—evidence of Orwell Park’s consistent track record in preparing strong candidates.
Sports and Creative Arts
Pupils at Orwell Park School reach county, regional, and national levels in rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, and athletics. ISI recognized that young athletes achieve considerable success beyond the campus, earning sports scholarships to top senior schools and competing at high levels. Meanwhile, musicians represent the institution in Pro Corda, National Children’s Choir and Orchestra, and Suffolk Festival, building on successful Associated Board and Trinity exams. Many study instruments and pass external speech and drama exams with distinction or top marks.
Orwell Park School Approach
According to ISI, pupils follow a broad and demanding curriculum, consistently securing first-choice places through competitive entrance exams. The school deliberately prepares students for senior schools, providing comprehensive training for Common Entrance and selective admissions. At the same time, Orwell Park embraces a “Sport for All” philosophy—programs cater to children of every ability, from beginners to national team members. Regular fixtures against other schools take place on its own fields, in the pool, on tennis courts, and across a 9-hole golf course.
