Summer Programs

Orwell Park School runs summer programs from early to late July, welcoming children from prep through Year 8. Parents can choose between day camp and a three-week residential program that includes English language instruction. The 110-acre historic campus features its own 9-hole golf course and river access to the Orwell, while weekly excursions take campers to Suffolk’s coastline and various theme parks—offering both on-site activities and adventures beyond the grounds.

Language Program

The residential camp welcomes international students regardless of their proficiency level, whether they’re just starting out or already fluent. Morning sessions take place in small groups, after which participants join day campers for shared activities. This arrangement creates an immersive environment where English naturally becomes part of sports, creative workshops, and excursions. Since Orwell Park attracts children from around the globe, the program helps them build confidence in communication while forming friendships that cross borders.

Workshops at Orwell Park School

For an additional £200 per week, students can book professional workshops in sailing, clay shooting, tennis, or golf—though spots are limited and allocated on a first-come basis. Sailing takes place at the pontoon on the River Orwell, where instructors from East Anglian Sea School teach handling of Hartley Wayfarer training dinghies. An accredited instructor leads clay shooting for children aged 8 and up, while certified coaches run tennis and golf sessions on the campus courts and course.

Participation Terms

Day camp at Orwell Park School costs £50 daily, running from 9:00 to 16:00, with early drop-off and late pickup available for an extra fee. The school offers discounts when booking a full week. Residential participants stay in an 18th-century mansion that’s been restored, with boys and girls on separate floors in rooms accommodating 4-10 students.
