Description

Eastwood Montreux International School: a new school on the historic Monte Rosa campus

Eastwood Montreux International School is a new international day and boarding school in Territet, Montreux, on the shores of Lake Geneva. It opens in September 2026 at Avenue de Chillon 57, the historic campus of Institut Monte Rosa. After more than 150 years of educational tradition and several years of reduced activity on the site, the owners of the campus invited Eastwood Schools Group to establish a completely new school there. Institut Monte Rosa itself no longer operates: Eastwood Montreux has its own name, leadership and educational model, while the historic property remains in the hands of its long-standing owners.

Academics

The school combines IB and American academics. Eastwood Montreux is a candidate school for the IB Diploma Programme and is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School (candidate status does not guarantee that authorisation will be granted). The American Diploma is offered through Eastwood Global, the group’s online school. Teaching is in English, and the school is designed for students aged 14 to 18.

The IMPACT programme

Alongside academic lessons, every afternoon students work on personal and group projects across six IMPACT strands: Imagination, Movement, Planet, Action, Character and Technologies. Each student builds a Legacy Project – a venture, creative work or social initiative that develops over time. Progress in leadership, resilience and creativity is recorded in the IMPACT Profile, and together with academic results and the Legacy Project it forms the Eastwood Passport, the school’s own credential.

53 Leaders

Students are mentored by the 53 Leaders network – educators, entrepreneurs, scientists, artists and creators, from Oxford economists and BAFTA-winning filmmakers to Olympic athletes, UN diplomats and tech founders. Each mentor stands for one year of Eastwood’s history since 1973. They give masterclasses, review student projects and offer career advice in small groups.

Campus and boarding

The school occupies a restored Belle Époque château overlooking Lake Geneva. The campus includes a full boarding house, common rooms, a dining hall, creative studios, fitness areas and spaces for the six IMPACT strands. The lakefront is a short walk away, and Montreux’s sports clubs, cultural venues and transport links are minutes from the school.

Fees

Published fees for 2026/27 start from CHF 115,000 a year, with a boarding package (accommodation, meals and pastoral care) included. New students also pay a CHF 500 application fee, a refundable CHF 5,000 security deposit and a non-refundable CHF 5,000 capital improvement contribution. Pocket money, travel, uniform, specialist trips and external exam fees are not included.

Short residential programmes

Besides the full school year, Eastwood Montreux runs one- and two-week residential intensives for ages 12 to 18 in summer and winter, in cohorts of 20 to 50 students: Resilience & Courage (ages 12 to 18) and Design Your Life (ages 16 to 18), based on Stanford’s Life Design framework. Days combine workshops with alpine activities such as via ferrata, Glacier 3000 trips or skiing.
